The City Palace of Jaipur is the latest addition to Airbnb’s impressive portfolio

The first royal residence on the platform, the City Palace of Jaipur offers guests an once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Jaipur’s Royal Family has listed their family home on Airbnb, hosting guests from November 2019 in the City Palace of Jaipur. Maharaja Sawai Padmanabh Singh is the first Maharaja to offer a stay at his palace on the platform, doing so in support of the women’s empowerment initiatives of the Princess Diya Kumari Foundation.

“I am thrilled that my family and I are partnering with Airbnb to bring the splendour of Rajasthan to life for travellers from around the world. My own travels with Airbnb have made me feel very welcome in new cities and cultures, and I am happy that the experience of quintessential Indian hospitality will be shared with others,” said the 21-year-old Maharaja.

The 300-year-old palace is one of India’s most iconic and photographed buildings, steeped in history and previously hosting notable dignitaries such as Prince Charles, Jackie Kennedy and Bill Clinton. Guests will be able to book the opulent Gudliya Suite for a taste of royal life, while also enjoying curated experiences and the cultural customs of the region under the wing of a private butler and guide.

Previously not available for booking by outside guests, the Gudliya Suite will available on select nights for just $1,457 as a special inaugural offer, with Airbnb will be paying the balance amount for each booking as a contribution to the Princess Diya Kumari Foundation. From 1 January 2020, the suite will be priced at the full AU$11,662-per-night rate.
