Private terminal for premium travellers to open at Singapore Changi Airport

One of the world’s busiest aviation hubs is upgrading its offerings for premium travellers.

Singapore’s Changi Airport Group (CAG) has begun redeveloping the former Commercially Important Persons (CIP) terminal site at Changi Airport’s southern node of Terminal 2. The project is being jointly operated by CAG and Plaza Premium Group, the global leader in integrated airport hospitality and passenger service solutions, operating the largest network of airport lounges in the world.

Formerly used for high-value passengers, the site will be transformed into a new private terminal with an expanded suite of amenities and is scheduled to open in mid-2027. The private terminal will serve premium travellers and include a deluxe lounge, bar, private suites and bespoke dining. Passengers will be able to rest in an exclusive space before being transferred directly to their flights, and have easy access to Changi’s world-class retail and services.

It will also include a high-end event space for private groups and gatherings. CAG is expanding the nearby Hub & Spoke lifestyle centre with new dining options, wellness facilities and pet-friendly spaces, plus a new covered amphitheatre and open-air plaza/event space to anchor the expanded precinct. The upgraded terminal and lifestyle zone are designed to form a travel and wellness hub in the southern part of Terminal 2.

The announcement follows news of Hotel Indigo Changi Airport, also under development, built by OUE and Tokyo Century Corporation. The 225-room hotel will include a rooftop terrace, a ‘floating forest’ and solar power systems. It is expected to open in 2028 and will be Singapore’s first zero-energy hotel.
